Perkins County Commissioners have made the decision that it is time to implement a Perkins County Comprehensive Plan.
They contacted the Black Hills Council of Local Governments, and requested assistance in this step towards protecting our future in Perkins County. Several meetings have been held, and the Draft Comprehensive Plan has been approved and available for review at the County Courthouse.

The First Step in this process was to gain public understanding. The Black Hills Council of Local Governments gave the following presentation to Perkins County residents at the Bentley Building in Bison.
The 2nd step in this process was to gather public input. The Black Hills Council of Local Governments sent out surveys both online and in paper. Below is a link to a compilation of those surveys.
The 3rd Step in this process was to hold a hearing with the planning committee to gain public input. This meeting was held April 22nd, 2014 at 7:00 pm in the Bentley Building in Bison, SD.
The Black Hills Council of Local Government was present to give a presentation on this document, and to answer questions during public comment.
The Planning Committee, voted unanimously to recommend to the Perkins County Commissioners to adopt the Comprehensive Plan as drafted.
